On this week-long intercultural trip, you’ll scale the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacán and follow in the footsteps of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera in Coyoacán. Setting this trip apart, we will travel around la Ciudad de México with locals, offering guests a one-of-a-kind perspective on contemporary life in this big city.

Additional highlights of this visit to the Mexican capital include:

  • An immersion into the 1500s world of the first missions of New Spain with their incredible frescos and monumental size.

  • An exploration of the architecture and murals of the Zócalo and Centro Histórico of Mexico City.

  • We’ll experience Mexico’s National History Museum at the Castillo de Chapultepec.

  • A movable feast of UNESCO World Heritage-recognized cuisine.

Moderate plus. The good thing about being built on a former lake is that everywhere you go is relatively flat. That said, there will be walking almost every day given our central location adjacent to the historic city center and Reforma Avenue.

Included:

  • 5 nights of hotel accommodations in Mexico City

  • 2 days of Mercedes Sprinter transportation with a professional driver to and from Mexico City environs destinations (Teotihuacán and Coyoacán)

  • Guides and local cultural interpretation services

  • Meals:5 breakfasts and4 comidas (lunches), 1 welcome dinner

    Mexico’s main meal, is a mid-day meal served between 1-3 pm in the afternoon.

  • The Value of Borderlandia

Not Included:

  • Airfare to and from Mexico City

  • Transportation transfer to and from the airport to the hotel

  • Dinners and snacks in between meals

  • Alcoholic beverages

Overnight tours to Mexico are fully refundable up to ten weeks before the initial tour date. If cancellation occurs between ten and six weeks before the tour’s first day, it is subject to a $250 (per person) administrative fee. There is no refund if cancellation occurs from six weeks to the tour's start date. There’s also the option to transfer the registration to another individual found by the original registrant.
