Sonora’s Bacanora Route Fall 2025

Dive into the distillation process in the Sierra Madres with Borderlandia and meet the people directly involved in spirit production on this special itinerary to Moctezuma, Huásabas, and Bacadéhuachi.

Departing from Nogales and based in the capital city of Hermosillo, we will spend two nights - the first and final - taking in the city’s cosmopolitan life. On our full second day, we will head east to uncover the roots of agave culture in northwestern Mexico from the source. The second night will be in Moctezuma, a traditional Sierra Madre’s town along an eastern river valley.

You’ll get to know the producers, learn about their process at three different distilleries or vinatas, take part in tastings, enjoy the local gastronomy, and experience the beautiful denomination of the origin region home of this Sonoran spirit.

Dates: November 14-17, 2025 (3 nights / 4 days)

Cancellation Policy - Mexico Tours

Overnight tours to Mexico are fully refundable up to ten weeks before the initial tour date. If cancellation occurs between ten and six weeks before the tour’s first day, it is subject to a $250 (per person) administrative fee. There is no refund if cancellation occurs from six weeks to the tour's start date. There’s also the option to transfer the registration to another individual found by the original registrant.
